How to Find and Retrieve a New Public Client Key
First, log in to your authorize.net account, then click on 'Settings':
Next, click on 'Manage Public Client Key':
If you already have a public client key created, it will be displayed for you to copy and paste.
It will be a very long string of numbers and letters.
If you don't see one, then you can create a new by answering the secret question and clicking 'submit'. (If you have not setup a secret question of your own, the answer is: Simon.)
How to Generate a Signature Key
This process will be similar to finding your Public Client Key.
First, log into the Merchant Interface. Click Account from the main toolbar and then Settings in the main left-side menu.
Under General Security Settings, click API Credentials & Keys.
Then, under Create New Key(s), click New Signature Key.
-
- To disable the old Signature Key, click the checkbox labeled Disable Old Signature Key Immediately.
- If the Disable Old Signature Key check box is not selected, the old Signature Key will automatically expire in 24 hours. This will also impact any use of the Signature Key for transaction response validation for the SHA2 field. If the old Signature Key is not expired the previous key will continue to be used for the hash/response validation.
Press Submit to continue.
Finally, request and enter PIN for verification, and then your new Signature Key is displayed.
