What are incentive offers?
Incentive offers (or "premium offers") are essentially any perk you offer donors to show appreciation for their donation. Examples include physical products, special opportunities, or exclusive offers— but any great fundraising incentive serves to reaffirm your relationship with your donors. In RaiseDonors we call these offers, "Products".
So let's say you want to offer a branded coffee mug as a special thank you for a donation. Easy enough! The first step is creating a Product in RaiseDonors.
Products in RaiseDonors
In RaiseDonors we have an entire section called "Products". In this area you can create new products and also manage all products you've already created.
Creating a Product
- Go to the Products section
- Click the "+ New Product" button
- You may assign the following properties to a product:
- Product name (long) REQUIRED
This is the full name of the product that will appear on your donor receipts.
(ex: Human Fund Tote Bag) - Product name (short)
This is an optional abbreviated name that can be presented on your donation page.
(ex: Tote Bag) - Fair market value REQUIRED
This is a good faith estimate of the market value of the goods or services that the donor will receive. - Minimum donation amounts
This is the minimum donation amount required in order for the donor to receive the offer. For example, if you set a minimum donation of $20 for the Tote Bag, a donor who gives $10 will still be able to make a gift—but their donation will not include an incentive offer when it comes back into RaiseDonors (and subsequently your CRM).
You also have the option to set up a minimum donation amount per country for United States, Canada, United Kingdom, and all other international destinations.
- The donor's country is determined by their billing address.
- By leaving a box blank or set to "0", the product will be available to be shipped to any destination.
- Product code REQUIRED
This is an internal code associated with the product. If you don't have a code, you can just enter the name of the product as your code. - Recurring product code
By default, a Product Code is only passed through with the initial donation. However, if the donor make a monthly donation when requesting this product, you have the option to specify a Product Code to be passed with future charges on that recurring schedule.
PRO TIP - When in doubt—just keep this blank. - Associated Project
By default, this Product will be associated with the Project specified on the donation page from which it is requested. You have the option to override the Project on a donation page and always associate this Product with a Specific Project.
PRO TIP - When in doubt—just keep this blank. - Is this product active?
You can activate or deactivate a product with this setting. By default all products are active. If you deactivate a product, it will no longer be available on your donation pages. - Description
You can optionally include a text description to be associated with the product.
(ex: Say no to paper and plastic with these reusable totes. Perfect for every grocery trip!) - Image
You can optionally upload an image to be associated with the product.
- Product name (long) REQUIRED
- Click "Save" when you are done.
