To get started, go to the Donors section in RaiseDonors and find the Donor whose plan you want to edit.
Edit the recurring donation
- Click the "Recurring Donations" tab in the Donor record.
- Click "Edit" on the Recurring Donation you'd like to edit.
- Amount and Project Designation
- Next Charge Date
- Billing Address and Payment Method
- Additional Details
Amount and Project Designation
The Amount and Project designation will display the donation amount and designated Project for the recurring donation. It follows the pattern: Amount (Project Name). For example, a $25.00 donation to the General Project will display as: $25.00 (General Project).
For donations to multiple projects, each will be listed individually.
Editing Amount and Project Designation
- Click the Edit button next to the "Amount and Project Designation" heading.
- Within any recurring donation you can add, edit, or delete any specific Project or amount. Keep in mind that all donations must be associated with at least one Project.
- You are also able to add, edit, or delete additional projectss to a donation.
For example, if you have a recurring donation of $25.00 a month to the General Fund, you can add an additional gift of $100 to the Annual Campaign. See this in action below:
An additional example, you can also edit amounts and/or remove a designation on any gift.
- When you are done, click "Save".
- These changes will be communicated to your gateway immediately.
- No past transactions will be impacted.
Next Charge Date
The next charge date is the next expected date that the recurring donation will be charged.
Editing Next Charge Date
- Click the Edit button next to the "Next Charge Date" heading.
- You may change the next charge month, day, and/or year.
- Click Save.
- These changes will be communicated to your gateway immediately.
- No past transactions will be impacted.
- Editing the next charge date is not available for Authorize.net.
Billing Address and Payment Method
You may replace the payment method for the recurring gift.
- You must also provide the billing address whenever you replace the payment method. The current billing address will auto-populate on the form.
- Even if you are just updating an expiration date, you must always provide the full payment information when updating a payment method.
- When you click save:
- These changes will be communicated to your gateway immediately.
- No past transactions will be impacted.
Additional Details
The Additional Details section allows you to edit fields that RaiseDonors assigns to the recurring donation. Those fields include:
- Associated Donation Page
- Motivation Code
- Source Coude
- Recurring Product Code
- Media Code (if applicable)
- Comments
- When you click save:
- Updates will only be applied to future transactions.
- No past transactions will be impacted.
Cancel the recurring donation
- Click the "Recurring Donations" tab in the Donor record.
- Click "Edit" on the Recurring Donation you'd like to edit.
- You may cancel the recurring donation by clicking the "Cancel this Schedule" button.
- A confirmation screen will appear to confirm that you want to delete this donation.
- Once confirmed, the recurring donation will immediately be cancelled at the gateway.
