Legacy RaiseDonors supports a rich integration with the online e-store solution, Vortx.com. These features include:

Synchronize information from Vortx -> Legacy RaiseDonors.

As an admin, performing updates to a customer in Vortx are pushed to Legacy RaiseDonors (excluding password updates).

This also applies to the end user (i.e. the customer). When a customer updates their account in Vortx, those updates are pushed to Legacy RaiseDonors (excluding password updates).
- When admins or customers log into Vortx, they will also be automatically logged into Legacy RaiseDonors.
- Vortx admin information is not synchronized with Legacy RaiseDonors. Only customers in Vortx are synchronized with donors in Legacy RaiseDonors.

Creating Admins
For security and PCI compliance, Admin accounts cannot be synced between the two systems. To get started, admins will need to be created in both Legacy RaiseDonors and Vortx.

Creating Legacy RaiseDonors admin
- Go to Account Settings -> Account Admins -> Add New User

When adding a new user you will need to provide:

First name

Last name

Email address

- You can optionally provide:
- Phone number
- A welcome message that will be sent with their invitation to access Legacy RaiseDonors.
- You will want to assign the appropriate user permissions. User permissions determine what areas of Legacy RaiseDonors this admin will be allowed to access.
- Once the admin is created in Legacy RaiseDonors, the same email address must be used in to create an admin in the Vortx store.
- If the admin needs to have access to other Legacy RaiseDonors accounts -- or already has access to other Legacy RaiseDonors accounts -- please email support@virtuous.org and we'll help you get this account set up.

Miscellaneous

Passwords do not sync between systems so passwords can be different between systems for the same email address. Changing passwords in either system will not break the authentication between the two systems.

Only after an email address has been created in Legacy RaiseDonors for an admin (not a donor) -- and the same email address is configured in Vortx as an Admin or Super Admin -- can it be used for management purposes.

Customers vs Donors
When you go online with this integration:
- You may or may not already have customers on Vortx.
- You may or may not have donors in Legacy RaiseDonors.
- And you may or may not have overlap of these customers and donors in each system.
For authentication between the two systems to happen seamlessly, the same email address must already exist in both systems. This way when someone logs into either system, they will simultaneously be logged into the other system. If a Vortx customer (email address) does not exist in Legacy RaiseDonors, the system will only log the customer into Vortx. The same is true vice-versa, if a Legacy RaiseDonors donor email address does not exist in Vortx, they will only be logged into their Legacy RaiseDonors donor portal and not the store.
Please note, it is OK if an email address does not exist in both systems, the integration will continue to work. They simply won't be able to seamlessly log into both systems until their email address exists in both systems. Read below for ideas on how to fix this.
Syncing customer and donor accounts
If you have an existing donor base in Legacy RaiseDonors and/or an existing customer base in Vortx, you can have a user sync their account information by triggering a password reset.
You can do this by emailing your donors or customers and asking them to reset their password.
- When a donor resets their password in the Legacy RaiseDonors donor portal, it will communicate with Vortx and automatically create an account for them (if one doesn't already exist).
- When a customer resets their password in Vortx, it will communicate with Legacy RaiseDonors and automatically create an account for them (if one doesn't already exist).
New customers and donors
When a first-time customer places an order in the store -- or -- a first-time donor places a donation on Legacy RaiseDonors, they will have an account automatically created in the other system for them.
Order History
When logged into Legacy RaiseDonors, admins and donors will have access to view their customer order history pulled real-time from Vortx.
This enables the donors and admins to view online giving history and order history from Vortx on one screen.
