Staying vigilant when it comes to your donation forms is crucial.
Fraudsters target online giving forms as a way to submit credit card numbers by the masses to see if they are 'good' or 'bad'. Unfortunately, this can lead to your giving form activity being riddled with declined transactions and can even cause your gateway provider to temporarily suspend your account. All of this leaves you temporarily unable to accept donations and that's the opposite of what we're all here for!
While we sincerely hope this is not something you ever have to address with your gateway provider, we wanted to share some key ways you can help prevent fraud on your donation forms
1. For all RaiseDonors accounts, you can enable the Card Verification Value (CVV) setting. This is an optional system setting that provides extra security to help ensure transactions are authentic via one additional field in the giving process. To enable this setting for your account, go to Account Settings > Merchant Account Configurations.
2. For RaiseDonors Pro Plan accounts, log into your account settings and activate the Address Verification Services Integration. Ensuring that your donations are submitted with USPS approved addresses can cut out over 80% of any fraudulent activity.
3. Your merchant account / gateway provider likely has advanced features that can help you prevent fraud. Reach out to your gateway provider to see what's best for your organization.
If you suspect any fraudulent activity with your RaiseDonors account, please email info@raisedonors.com immediately.
