Standard Approach
By default, email receipts sent through RaiseDonors come from "thankyou@raisedonors.com". This ensures the digital sending reputation of all emails originating from RaiseDonors is not tarnished - and remains within the 98% deliverability rate. Many new rules to prevent SPAM are being enforced across all of the major email platforms and this ensures compliance.
Emails will be coming from "thankyou@raisedonors.com", but the system does allow you to configure the "from name" and the "reply-to email address". This presents itself in various ways across all the different email platforms. In most cases, this is sufficient branding and recognition for your organization.

Customized / Advanced Approach
Please note that this feature has a one-time $99 setup fee in RaiseDonors.
With a simple update you can configure RaiseDonors to send emails on behalf of your organization and thus, further customize the raw "from" email address. This update allows the major email platforms to see trust has been granted from your organization's domain - to allow RaiseDonors to send emails from your domain name.
To get started, you'll need to answer the following two questions:
- What email address would you like your receipts to come from?
- Are you (or someone on your team) able to make edits to your DNS?
When ready, send an email to help@raisedonors.com and indicate you are wanting to customize the "from" email address in your RaisedDonors account. Be sure to include the following information:
- What email address you'd like your email receipts to come from
- What vendor is currently managing the DNS for the domain provided in the custom email address so we can send vendor specific instructions to edit the DNS.
- Acceptance and acknowledgement of the one-time setup fee of $99.
- Contact information for where to send the DNS edits.
After we receive your email, we'll send you instructions on the various DNS edits you'll need to make for this solution to operate properly. This process can take up to two business days.
What email address would you like your receipts to come from?
Pro tip: when you set the "from" email address, be sure that you or someone in your organization has access to this email's inbox. You'll receive automated replies, out-of-office messages, and donor replies at this address. If you're concerned about the volume of emails you may receive, set up a dedicated email address just for your donation pages to avoid overflowing someone's individual inbox.
Are you able to make edits to your DNS?
"Editing your DNS" may sound tricky, but it doesn't have to be intimidating. You'll typically have access to your DNS from wherever you purchased your domain name (i.e. GoDaddy, Network Solutions, NameCheap, etc).
After we receive your email, we'll send you instructions on the DNS edits that need to be made. There are anywhere from 3 - 5 new CNAME records that will need to be created and the instructions you will receive will provide each new records Type, Host, and Value.
